In God We Trust

Here is the forwarded pseudo-patriotic blathering:

Watch this crowd. In the beginning when he started to sing, they were not even aware he was singing the national anthem.

This is awesome!!!! I know you are going to pass this on.

Since the words to the anthem were written in 1814, I have a hard time understanding why today's Washingtonians say that In "God We Trust" should be taken off our money, etc. Could it be that they are just plain ignorant of history and a whole lot more!

End of forwarded message.

Ok, I did not go watch the video.  I don't go watch videos.  Seriously, people post and forward youmustseethisohmygoditsthebest videos so many times a day it is ridiculous.  I don't watch any of them, let along this one that came in such a, um, lovely package.  The great big words almost won me over.  Almost.

Still, even without watching the video, I am able to rant.  Due to the fact that this anthem was written in 1814 means that we need to keep In "God We Trust" (misplaced quote all theirs) on our money.  We have to be ignorant of history not to want that on our money.

Ignorant. Of. History.

Like so ignorant that we don't know that the motto "In God We Trust" was adopted in 1956?

Yes, that ignorant.
